Stop Telling the Story
A popular idea in the mindset business is telling people to “create a new story." That's a seemingly good recommendation, though I don't see it working for people as well as it's supposed to.
A more helpful recommendation is something we need to do first, before or perhaps INSTEAD OF creating a new story:
WE HAVE TO STOP TELLING OURSELVES THE OLD STORY.
After we stop telling ourselves the old story, the deeper part of us will do the rest.
Truly, our innate wisdom is powerful and ready to be listened to- we just have to give it a little bit of space to show us something new. We don't need to do any more than that.
(This idea was inspired by something I heard Michael Neill say, whose Supercoach Training I took in 2020.)
